Special Event: Amsterdam Smart Shop Tour

Join us for a very special tour exploring Amsterdam smartshops on Saturday, May 10th!

Smartshops have long been a staple in Dutch drug policy. At the same time, for many people they remain an enigma. Many Dutch people would not be able to tell what’s sold smartshops, nor is the Netherlands widely known internationally for this unique model of selling psychedelics in a legal, semi-controlled setting.

In a tour visiting and passing by many smartshops in central Amsterdam, local journalist and incidental tour guide Thijs Roes will guide us through multiple decades of mind-boggling policy, Dutch tolerance, and plenty of drama surrounding novel substances. Along the way, we will learn about the fascinating history of smartshops, visit a few unique staple shops and meet some people from the field to ask questions to.

Location/Time

The tour will begin with us gathering at 14.00 at a meeting point in the center of Amsterdam, and will last until approximately 17.00, where we will finish at Kokopelli Smartshop. The exact meeting point and a detailed itinerary of what the tour will include will be emailed to ticket holders a few days before the event. If you have any questions about this please feel free to send us a message.
